Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 October 2026
Ride Mirror processes your camera, microphone, location and motion data on your iPhone. The app does not send your recordings or routes to third parties. It has no account system, advertising, tracking or third-party analytics.
This policy describes the Ride Mirror iPhone app provided by Enghammer and this privacy website. For privacy questions, contact the contact form.
1. Data used by the app
- Camera: the front camera provides the live mirror. On supported devices, front and rear cameras record ride videos into a rolling buffer and saved sessions.
- Microphone: with your permission, microphone sound is recorded with the videos. The app does not directly capture the digital audio stream from other apps.
- Precise location and speed: with When In Use location permission, GPS is used for the speed display, video overlays, recording location tags, timestamped route data and the speed gate for impact auto-save. Saved route data can include coordinates, speed, altitude, accuracy and timing.
- Motion: device orientation and gravity readings are processed locally to detect sustained tilt for impact auto-save. This feature is enabled by default and can be switched off. Saved session details identify whether recording was started manually or by an impact trigger. The app does not save a continuous raw motion-sensor history.
- Preferences and session details: settings such as speed units, buffer duration, lens, stabilization and impact auto-save, along with recording timing, duration and export status, are stored locally.
2. Local processing and sharing
Ride Mirror does not upload app data to Enghammer, sell personal data, use advertising identifiers, or include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. No registration is required. Camera, audio, GPS and motion processing take place on your device.
You can choose to share videos or timestamped GPS files through the iOS share sheet, or export videos to Photos. The app requests add-only Photos access when you choose a Photos export; it does not browse your photo library. Data you share is handled by the recipient or service you select under its own policies.
Shared videos may reveal your route and surroundings. Speed and GPS coordinates are burned into video frames when available, and saved videos and Photos exports can include a location tag. Removing a file’s location metadata does not remove coordinates visible in the picture. The separate GPS file contains timestamped route details.
3. Storage and retention
Rolling camera, audio and position buffers keep approximately the selected duration: 1, 3, 5 or 10 minutes, with 5 minutes as the default. Older unprotected material is discarded as recording continues. Saving manually or through impact auto-save protects available pre-event footage and continues recording until stopped.
Recordings and supporting files are stored in the app’s local Documents folders, including Rolling and Saved, accessible through Files → On My iPhone → Ride Mirror. Saved sessions remain until you delete them. Interrupted or unfinished rolling clips may remain for recovery; stale rolling files older than 24 hours are removed when the app next launches.
The app does not operate its own cloud storage. However, local app documents may be included in iOS device backups according to your settings. Videos exported to Photos may sync through iCloud Photos if you have enabled it. Backup and Photos services are controlled by your Apple settings and Apple’s policies.
4. Your controls and deletion
You can change camera, microphone, location and Photos permissions in iPhone Settings. Denying permission limits the related feature. Location access is requested for use while the app is in use; the app does not request Always location access or provide background ride tracking. Camera capture stops when the app goes into the background, with an attempt to finish an active saved recording.
Delete a session in the app’s recordings list or recording details to remove its local videos, combined export and route data. You can also manage files in Files. Deleting the app removes its local app storage; offloading the app may keep documents. Copies already exported, shared or backed up are not removed by deleting a session or the app. Manage those separately in Photos, Files, the receiving service and your backup settings.
Because Enghammer does not receive your app recordings or routes, we cannot retrieve or remotely delete them. You control those files on your device and in services you choose.
5. Recording other people
Video and sound can include other people, vehicle plates and private surroundings. Consider others’ privacy when recording or sharing, and follow applicable recording rules. Impact auto-save is an experimental feature and does not contact emergency services or automatically send a recording to anyone.
6. This website and contact messages
This static privacy page uses no analytics, advertising cookies, embedded trackers or third-party fonts. As with ordinary website hosting, Cloudnet may process request details such as IP address, request time, requested URL and browser information in server and security logs. These requests are separate from data recorded inside the app.
If you contact us through the form, your name, email address and message are sent to Enghammer’s support inbox to answer your request and maintain necessary correspondence. The form uses a temporary security cookie and an IP-based rate-limit record to prevent abuse. Message content is sent by email and is not saved in a website database. Please do not send recordings or precise route information unless needed for your question. Contact us about access, correction or deletion of correspondence at the contact form.
7. Changes and contact
If the app’s data practices change, this policy will be updated and the effective date above revised. This policy describes the app implementation reviewed on 23 October 2026.
